What is "Bored & Lucky"?

‘Bored & Lucky’ is Ethereum smart contract based NFT raffle platform created by BAYC #4619 to give anyone a chance to win a blue-chip NFTs and join some of the most exclusive NFT-gated communities on Web3.

BAYC #4691 is an incredibly lucky ape who has made his fortune on smart crypto investment choices. A real connoisseur of NFT art and all things classy, he's now chasing away the boredom by spreading the luck and organizing raffles with life-changing blue-chip NFTs.

What are the prizes?

Prizes of ‘Bored & Lucky’ raffles are true grails from blue-chip NFT collections only like CryptoPunks, BAYC, MAYC carefully and purposefully hunted by BAYC #4619 himself.

What are the rules of the raffle?

It’s very simple. There is a limited amount of tickets available for each raffle. Everyone who has a ticket has a mathematically fair chance equal to [amount of tickets you have] / [total amount of raffle tickets] of winning the raffle.
The raffle takes place and the winner is determined as soon as all tickets are sold out. If all tickets are not sold out by the end of the deadline, the raffle is canceled. In the case of cancellation everyone who purchased tickets can claim a full refund that is guaranteed by smart contract.

How can I know if this raffle is fair?

All "Bored & Lucky" raffles are smart contract based - the NFT prize and the funds received from the ticket sale are locked in the contract and the only way to release them is via a raffle process that is 100% fair for all parties involved.
The winning ticket is determined in a completely random and fair manner. To guarantee transparency and unbiased approach the winner is determined by smart contract via transaction on blockchain using Chainlink VRF to independently generate a random number to draw the winner.

What address holds all the NFTs intended for the live and upcoming raffles?

Each raffle has its own contract where NFT is transferred and locked until the raffle is drawn. Originally all NFTs intended for the raffles are bought and hold by BAYC #4619 on OpenSea account: opensea.io/BoredLucky

Who can participate in raffle?

Anyone with a Metamask wallet connected to the Ethereum Mainnet network.

What are my chances to win?

Everyone who has a ticket has a fair chance to win the grand prize. Your chances of winning are equal to [amount of tickets you have] / [total amount of raffle tickets]. More tickets = bigger chance.

How can I buy a ticket?

1. Connect Metamask (Ethereum Mainnet network)
2. Set amount of tickets you want to purchase
3. Press "Buy ticket" button
4. Follow transaction instructions on Metamask.
5. See the tickets you purchased in ‘My tickets’ section

How much does a ticket cost and how many tickets are there in total?

The price and total number of tickets for each raffle is indicated on the raffle item. ETH is the only payment currency. You have to pay Ethereum gas fees for the transaction.

How many tickets can I buy?

There are no restrictions. You can buy as many tickets as there are available. Your chances of winning are equal to [amount of tickets you have] / [total amount of raffle tickets].

Where can I see the tickets I purchased?

You can see all the tickets that you have purchased for live and ended raffles by going to the My tickets section. Click on the amount of tickets to see a complete list of ticket numbers you have

What if there are no tickets available for purchase at the moment?

Can I resell my tickets?

No. Tickets are registered in the smart contract of the raffle at the moment of purchase and linked directly to the Ethereum wallet address that purchased them. Tickets themselves are not NFTs.

Why do some tickets appear to be sold even before the start of the sale?

Up to 5% of tickets for each raffle are handed out via different promotional contests and giveaways via twitter.com/boredlucky_eth during the presale period of each raffle. The number of available tickets will change as they are handed out to the contest winners. Follow twitter.com/boredlucky_eth for a chance to win free tickets and to stay tuned for other updates as well.

How and when the winner of the raffle is determined?

As soon as all tickets are sold out the raffle smart contract initiates a transaction on blockchain to request a random number from Chainlink VRF. This random number is used to determine the lucky ticket. The process may take from a few minutes to several hours. After that the winner is displayed in Ended raffles and is announced on twitter.com/boredlucky_eth

How do I know who is the winner?

Winner for each raffle is visible in the ‘Ended raffles’ section on the homepage. You'll also be able to see the winner in the My tickets section on the ticket of the specific raffle. All results of the raffles are also announced on twitter.com/boredlucky_eth.

How do I get the prize if I’m the winner?

If you have won the raffle, you’ll see a Claim Prize button on the raffle ticket in ‘My tickets’ section. Press the button to initiate a transaction and transfer the NFT prize to your Ethereum wallet address. You have to pay Ethereum gas fees for the transaction.

What happens when the deadline comes?

If the deadline comes before all tickets of the raffle are sold out the raffle is canceled and everyone who purchased tickets gets a refund that is guaranteed by smart contract.

Can the raffle be canceled / aborted?

Raffle is automatically canceled by smart contract if tickets are not sold out by the end of the deadline.
There's also a theoretical possibility that raffle can be aborted by smart contract if something goes technically wrong for example - getting an error while receiving a random number from Chainlink VRF, but it is very unlikely.
In a case if the raffle is canceled or aborted everyone who purchased tickets gets a complete refund guaranteed by smart contract.

How to get the refund if the raffle is canceled?

To claim your refund - go to the ‘My tickets’ section, find the canceled/aborted raffle and press the Claim Refund button. You’ll see a popup that will allow you proceed through steps to receive a full refund. You have to pay Ethereum gas fees for the necessary transactions.

What if boredlucky.com goes offline before anyone can claim refunds and/or NFT prizes?

‘Bored & Lucky’ raffles are Ethereum smart contract based. All funds paid for the tickets and NFT prizes are locked in the dedicated raffle smart contract based on the Ethereum blockchain. Even in a very unlikely event of boredlucky.com going offline the raffles would still play out and prizes/refunds could be claimed on a blockchain by the winning/participating wallet addresses. This is guaranteed by smart contract.
